Todrick Hall made his Broadway debut in The Color Purple and went on to join the original Broadway cast of Memphis. He starred as Lola in Kinky Boots, and Ogie in Waitress; and played Billy Flynn in Chicago on Broadway and the West End. He recently played Nurse in Wild About You, and originated the role of Sean in Burlesque, for which he also contributed multiple songs.
With over 9 million followers across several platforms, Todrick is one of the most high-profile and prolific storytellers in the world. Recognition that has afforded him the opportunity to work with superstars in every industry including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande.
He has appeared on over a dozen television shows including “The Masked Singer”, “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, “Dear White People”, and “The Greatest Dancer.”
Todrick has written, co-produced, and released 17 studio albums, composed the “Magic Happens” parade at Disneyland, wrote and appeared in the Virgin America pre-flight safety video, headlined eight International tours as a recording artist, and appeared in and co-produced Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” video, for which he also won a Video Music Award.
James was nominated for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical at the 1997 Laurence Olivier Awards.
This was for his West End debut in The Who’s Tommy at the Shaftesbury Theatre.
Most recently, James created the role of Lord Farquaad in Shrek The Musical on its UK Tour. Prior to this, he created the role of Tray in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue – a role he stayed with through the show’s entire West End run. He also had the great pleasure of taking ETAJ all the way to the states, performing at the Ahmanson Theatre in LA for its 6-week run.
